The Conclusion Of IMA 2007

December 19th, 2007

Yesterday was the last advance workshop for Internet Marketing Academy, which concludes everything for the year.
Looking back at all the batches and how we’ve grown, it’s a great thing to be coaching a great bunch of people.

We’ve seen people transform not just in the IM arena, but also from the mindset perspective.
As a firm believer of mindset, modeling and the power of NLP, I believe in building the foundation inwards,
before moving on to the hard skills, which is the technical skills, design, copywriting, etc…

You see, if we are positive and always looking ahead, during tough times, we will automatically look for solutions,
instead of dwelling upon what went wrong and the what-ifs. On several occasion, when times were hard,
and Stuart, Aloysius and I are looking at a problem, I would become problem-focused and get reprimanded for it.
Hahahaa… So you see, I’m only human. But luckily, that happens once in a blue blue moon. :p

Of course, in order to cultivate a good habit to constantly looking for solutions, we need to jump start our brains.
Luckily, AKLTG also offers a great course in which many people swear by it, it’s called the Patterns Of Excellence.
Throughout a few days, one will go through an empowering transformation, if he allows it.

Wow, there’s so much to say in my mind right now, that I just don’t know how to put it down into words.
Having gone through so many things and with so much more to experience next year, I can only describe it in one word:
ORGASMIC! hahaha… :)

Stay tuned guys, while I gather my thoughts and pen it down again. :)

Looking Back Year 2007…

December 9th, 2007

This blog post is inspired by Jacklyn, who is a very good friend of mine, also teaching me the meaning of life through her life stories. Thank you Jacklyn, for being a guiding beacon in my life! :)

Hmmm, how should I start? This year has been a pretty interesting year for me. It is for me to discover more about myself, my limitations, my goals, my inspirations and my focus.

I began the year helping Stuart in the Internet Marketing department of Adam Khoo Learning Tech Group. As I had only started IM about 4 months before I moved fully into IM, I quickly realized that I have tons to learn. We started off the year pushing the product Internet Money Secrets 2007, only to be canceled during March when John & Rich couldn’t make it here.

After that, I witness the power of masters at work, Read the rest of this entry »

SEO tips

November 27th, 2007

I came across a product that cost us$1 and it’s a simple idea on how better to create backlinks.

It’s very simple actually, it actually uses the power of our dear Search Engine, Google.
Upon going to Google.com, all you need to do is to type in the following sentence
“[your keywords here]” “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” -”no comments”

Meaning to say, if your niche is: Bananas for monkeys, you would type in
“[Bananas for monkeys]” “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” -”no comments”

So what this does is this, it would search for the phrase ‘Bananas for monkeys’.
the rest of course is to search for wordpress blogs that have leave a comment and omitting no comments.

Alright, I shan’t give away the rest of the juicy details away, after all, it’s only a dollar. You can check it out here. :)
Very interesting. Makes me love Google all the more! :D

One Hell Of A Sunday…

November 26th, 2007

Ever since tons and tons of people commented on the weight that I’ve put on, after enduring all the constructive criticism and an overwhelming desire to become slim and healthy, I’ve joined my wife (breadfairy)’s cardio stretch class.

What’s a cardio stretch? It’s like aerobics (1 hour) and stretching exercises(30mins). Yesterday was my 2nd lesson and when I woke up today, my arse and my entire legs seems to be made of lead.

Maybe this time it will work…

November 19th, 2007

I remember a scene from The Simpsons where Homer was stealing cable from the nearby cable post. To cut the long story short, Homer learned the lesson of not stealing and he decided to cut the cables away.

As of all things Homer, he always manage to screw things up and to make a complete arse out of himself. There were 3 cable on the post. 2 live wires and only one is the correct cable. Homer chooses the left most cable which is a live wire. He gets himself electrocuted and suffers immense pain. He rests for 3 seconds and think, hmmm, maybe this time it will work and cut the same cable again. As predicted, he gets electrocuted again.

Not giving up, being the super persistent Homer, he persists on. But over and over again, he picks the same cable hoping that it will work. It was pretty funny to see him getting electrocuted over and over again.

But enough of the story. How does it relate to our real life, specifically pertaining to Internet Marketing? Are we guilty of committing the Homer-Act? Do the same thing, fail and repeat the same thing, hoping that it will work the next round?

Now don’t laugh thinking that it will never happen to you. It still happens to me sometimes. No, I’m serious. For example, I know that eating that chocolate waffle will make me gain weight. But I still repeat the same process. Yes, it’s not IM-related, but I’m sure you get the picture.

Whenever we get frustrated on certain things, whether in IM or not, we always need to take a step back and to re-evaluate the situation. Are our methods wrong? Are there better methods? How can I achieve the same results with lesser effort? We must always answer this question.

I’ve seen a lot of people beginning IM or any other areas (me included), doing the same wrong step, expecting to see a different results.

I remember Einstein saying this. Insanity, is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different results.

So now, are you guilty of it?
Do it again, maybe this time it will work… :p

Cheers,
Ming Chern
