Why Wouldn’t People Invest in Workshops, Seminars, Courses?
Of the many things that intrigued me, one that really stand out is for the fact that too many people don’t see a need to invest in continuous education.
Many of my friends/acquaintances have chatted with me on their standpoint.
I once told a good friend about why it’s good to attend courses from this point of view,
“What if you can gather a single great idea and make $10,000 in the next month?” simply by investing, say, S$3000?
I was immediately rebutted with, “Have YOU made this much”?
Though I’m still a distance away, but i’m definately on track towards there!
Nevertheless, I was rather peeved back then.
I still remember before I attended Stuart’s Huge Cheques Monthly program, I drafted a one-year-plan and my perception/summary of what internet marketing is. On what my plan to make my million dollars. I was sooo sure on what to do.
But just after two days, i realised my old plan was naive and dumb.
The thing is, I spent $3000 to stop making dumb mistakes for at least a year. I spent that money to network, to gather ideas, to make great friends in my IM journey. As an ardent fan of Robert Kiyosaki’s teachings, I understand the power of a team.
Stuart once told me, which he quoted from somewhere, if two men exchanged a dollar, they walk away with a dollar. If two men exchanged an idea, they walk away with two ideas… Now do you see the importance of a team? 
Image a team of 5 people exchanging unique ideas?
After a huge round, what I’m attempting to say is, it doesn’t matter how much I’m making, it matters how much you can absorb the teachings and apply it to real life business.
People always say that car, that handbag, phone, pda, laptop is AN INVESTMENT, but an educational course was a waste of money?
It truly amuses me. I guess their idea of an ‘investment’ where they get to ENJOY it? Proud to say, I invest in tools that elevate my understanding or to gain an extra foothold of what I’m supposed to do.
