I’m loving wordpress more and more with each passing day. With the unlimited possibilities that can be derived from this opensource technology and the level of control that you gain in your hands.
Of course, ardant fans of blogger.com would say theirs is so user-friendly and yadda yadda yadda. But hey, did we pick up something in an instant? There’s bound to be a learning curve somewhere.
I was introduced to wordpress blog by my buddy Andrew Wee and he’s been great in imparting business concepts. So you might want to check out his site and see the difference between our blogs and the rest of the world.
Of cos, in comparison, for those beginning out in blogging. The blogger people’s blogs would look sooo nice with the pre-built templates, but once the wordpress guys catch up… woah, we’ll be blowing them away with our out-of-the-world templates, plugins and the level of control we can attain.
They say in business, control is one of the important things. So why throw away your control of your information to other people? It doesn’t makes sense!
My friends, who are not in internet marketing, keep asking me, so how do I monetize my blog? Well, I do it in a few ways. Google Adsense and affiliate products, though I’m not those really aggresive ones. Cos my RisingIMStar.com is not a full monetization source. Instead, it’s more like a sanctuary and a practise ground. I do not promote aggressively, probably because there are so few good products out there. And I find my hosting account, BlueHost is one of the better ones.
In a nutshell, internet marketing is NEVER about the technology or how many products you buy or how flashy your website is. IM is well, about business and all of your business strategies. Above all, it’s about HOW you MARKET to the audience.
Never forget that!
Have a great weekend ahead!
