SEO tips

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

I came across a product that cost us$1 and it’s a simple idea on how better to create backlinks.

It’s very simple actually, it actually uses the power of our dear Search Engine, Google.
Upon going to Google.com, all you need to do is to type in the following sentence
“[your keywords here]” “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” -”no comments”

Meaning to say, if your niche is: Bananas for monkeys, you would type in
“[Bananas for monkeys]” “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” -”no comments”

So what this does is this, it would search for the phrase ‘Bananas for monkeys’.
the rest of course is to search for wordpress blogs that have leave a comment and omitting no comments.

Alright, I shan’t give away the rest of the juicy details away, after all, it’s only a dollar. You can check it out here. :)
Very interesting. Makes me love Google all the more! :D

Wordpress Coaching Series: The Power Of Linking

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Two days ago,

I touched on the power of trial & error for the Wordpress Widgets and received, well, quite a few responses from peterson & hungyin. :)
Yup, as the title shows, it’s a series, so I should continue on the wordpress coaching series.

I’m touching on how to link to other people or ask other people to link to you.
For those who are using the older version of wordpress, it’s the tab called ‘Links’,
for those using the latest version, it’s the tab named ‘Blogroll’

When we link to other people, we need to know a little of the term Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Usually, when we ask people to link to us, we ask them to do this. www.RisingIMStar.com

But we really should be doing this Wordpress Coach.

So why this? This is because I want my website RisingIMStar.com to be on page one of the search engines when people type in Wordpress Coach.

I’m currently ranked number one if you type in ‘Internet Marketing Technical Coach’ into Google. Yes, I don’t get traffic from the Search Engines using this keyword, but it sure works well for the ego! Hehehehehe…

So if you are linking to other people or asking other people to link to you, make sure you do your research well and choose a keyword for them to link to you or vice versa. :)

That’s all for now.

Cheers!

The importance of SEO

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Alot of people says SEO is very important for the traffic. Others say it’s a horde of crap.
But in my opinion, ranking high on the search engine is not just for the traffic.

This also solves the issues of credibility.

Imagine you are in the wedding niche and you decided to rank high for the keyword ‘Wedding Specialist’.
Assuming you need to build 10,000 quality backlinks to your site, and you really did it.

So what happens next?
Of cos, number one would be the traffic you would be getting. *yummy* !!!
But that’s not all, everyone would remember you as the Wedding Specialist.
Of cos that’s not true if you knew nuts about wedding, but hey, it sure gives you good credibility rite?
especially online where people found your website based on their searches on google
and they’ll be more inclined to buy something from you,
cos they are buying from you, not you selling to them…

Hope this morning ramble gives you a little more insight. :)
btw, I was playing with SEOelite, damn, it’s a super solid software that gives you the unfair advantage of analysing your competition and gaining backlinks! :D

Staying ahead of the game with free resources, YouTube, Google Video

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Even though I’m paying for my hosting. And really encourage everyone to get their own hosting for their blogging software, there are still certain good things out there to help the average Internet Marketer to boost forward in their profits and get themselves known. :)

Today I’ll be touching on the free video hosting and the opportunities that people miss out on.

Firstly, what can you do at/with YouTube? Watch videos? That’s it? maybe not.
As an internet marketer, what we can do is to HOST our videos at YouTube.
There are several benefits that we can derive from this.
