Information Overload, What next?

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Is this familiar to you?

You spent time reading and reading and buying and buying ebooks, ecourses, video tapes, MP3 in all aspects of Internet Marketing.
You’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars purchasing all the products, resources. At first, the fire is strong, voracious learning takes place and you’ve burnt the midnight oil to digest tons of information in adsense, affililiate marketing, product creation and so on…

Leverage on other people’s strengths to maximize your business success

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Many a times, people began their little foray into whatever opportunities they have passion in, dabble in a little bit, learnt that it’s too hard and gave up.

Some went in with full force, full of passion, but still failed and then they gave up.
But have they stopped to ponder on why they failed?

Is it because they were unlucky? Or that they were not fated to succeed?

Busy Busy Two Hectic Weeks

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Wow,

how time flies! I just realised that it’s been like 2 weeks since I last posted!
Every single day had been hectic for me.

After POE, I came down with serious illness of stomach flu, vomitting and all the crazy stuffs.
Then came the Internet Marketing Academy that burned my weekend last week and the preparation for the course.

Incredible. During IMA, there was one time that I spoke for 4 hours non-stop.
Wow, that was a real challenge for me. As I haven’t fully trained my voice well, I kinda falter at the last hour.

Also, as I’m trained as a toastmaster, my preparation was max for 40 minutes.
So therefore, my throat is hurthing like hell for me.

Even then, I have 2 personal coaching today, and I just finished a 3 hour coaching with one of the participants.
Wow, but I’m not complaining!

It’s really great that I’m now working on both of my passions.
Training AND Internet Marketing Business.

Sometimes, it irkes me to see people beginning Internet Marketing and focusing on things that don’t matters.
For example, the technical aspects of IM. No matter how much Stuart and I reframe, people just think that technical stuffs are the most important part of IM.

Look at it from this perspective, if being technically inclined can make you alot of money, then me, the technical specialist, and all the Indian programmers would be billionaires by now. And I would be hiring Stuart or Bill Gates instead. Right? It’s an interesting perspective don’t you think?

Okay, enough said, I’ll be going back to preparing to my second coaching session and more planning of work for the rest of the week. :)

Cheers and stay well my friends!

Love,
Ming Chern

Internet Marketing Subscribers Night

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

It was AWESOME! The subscribers nite held by Stuart Tan of InternetMarketingSingapore.com was a blowout man! :)
With a few heavyweight champions in the Internet Marketing world clocking high 5-digit income monthly coming in to share their experiences was an awesome experience.

Okay, I got saboed by Stuart at the last minute to go up as a technical speaker. Okay, in my opinion, I didn’t do too well. Ha! But hey, it was still fun as I don’t have those butterflies in the stomach talking on stage to alot of people. In fact, I kinda enjoyed it. :)

Though my presentation skills still needs to be improved and to have a better product knowledge. :)

Off stage, I’ve talked to alot of people and get to understand their IM journey and what they do. Though I realised that alot of issues faced can be resolved by using creative thinking.

For example, when ryan chua first began his bmw-sg.com forums, he printed car decals and literally created a viral campaign by putting it on the windscreen of every BMW they see. This offline approach works and that’s how he got his initial seed members.

Of cos this is an offline approach, but you can really create the same effect online too.

I remember I did some viral effect during Christmas last year. I did a 3 page powerpoint and gave it to all my friends.
On the first page, it said “Let’s play a game”
Second page says, “*** Big HUGS ***”
Third page says, “Now, pass this christmas spirit to as many friends as possible!”

I did this presentation in less than 15 minutes and it tripled my traffic in less than a week.

Of cos, I made the mistake of not being able to monetize off this effect as I drove them to my RisingIMStar.com
which is a totally wrong target market. But hey, no worries, cos this really works! :)

You can test this type of effect sometimes.

To come back to the subscribers nite and the people I’ve communicated with, always remember to do creative things.
Create a business system to make your income. I know this works. :)

Take care and stay well.
Till the next subscribers nite.

Cheers,

Why Toastmasters works for me

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I remember 2 years ago, when I started my quest for financial freedom. I literally paid thousands and thousands of money to attend alot of seminars/workshops/course. I literally attend all genre of money-making schemes…

Business building, investments in stocks/options/etc.

It was a very intensive time for me. With the limited amount of money and time that I had, i bit my lip and perserved on.
Now, two years have past and I chanced upon Internet Marketing last year. Ever since, I vowed to stay focused.

I passed on the stocks investment portfolio to my wife and I concentrated on this quest.
I’ve invest alot of time during the first 5 months, i literally spent 5 hours on weekdays and 16 hours on weekends without fail on Internet Marketing. Investing loads of all my extra cash and time on this. This is how I build up my foundation, based on sheer hardwork.

Coming to toastmasters, why does this works for me? It’s because I’m now a trainer for AKLTG. So speaking is a skill I need to be a master at.
Yesterday, 14th May 2007, I tested a new strategy and it worked wonders for me. :) Battling with 4 other speakers, I came up the best speaker, and I have an award to prove it!

Today, I have my technical training for IMA, so it’s really a morale booster! :)
Yup, coming to perspective, I urged all of you to focus on skills that compliment what you are currently doing.
Whatever it is, if you are a public speaker, go for toastmasters,
If you are a marketer, go for copywriting courses, etc…

It’ll definately help in the long run! :)

Cheers,
