Why I don’t give out my phone number…
Received a call from a very unhappy past participant.
Apparently she’s been trying to reach me for the past 10,000 years.
but somehow, the voice messages she left to AKLTG and the emails she sent to me didn’t reach me. But she finally got fed up and came down to AKLTG and literally screw the customer service people (CSCs).
Finally, the CSCs couldn’t take it anymore and called me. I spoke with the lady over the phone and she literally demanded my address and my phone number. Now, usually, I really don’t give away my phone number because of fearful past experiences where they call and pester me every single day and for every single small problem.
So, I asked if she can send me an email on the problem. But guess what, before I can even complete the sentence, I was shot down and f***ed upside down. Now, I can understand the frustration one feels when beginning internet marketing, but there’s really no need to be so mean. I was blatant and asked not to be so fierce and shooting me down like this. The funny thing is, she said she wasn’t worked up and was not being fierce or anything.
I’m a personal advocate of solving any problems myself. I mean, if we’re doing business, shouldn’t we be looking for solutions creatively and more effectively. Come on, let’s not bite the hand that feeds you right? *ouch*
Nevertheless, I still agreed to give her my other office address and the office number. No way over my dead body will I give out my mobile number to someone that is so aggressive. I’ve always been very committed to helping my past participants. Even people who graduated from my course 1 year ago asked me questions recently, I still do my best to help the person. That’s who I am.
I don’t avoid people for the sake of avoiding. I mean, I really don’t… With so many past experiences where I get screwed over for being nice, get scolded, and f*** upside down and they still expect me to help them. I think I must be crazy to still be helping them. And yes, I do help them… How crazy can I be. I guess being hainanese does have the crazy streaks! haha…
Oh well, let’s not be too problem-focused and focus on how I can help her tomorrow.
May the force be with me…
Cheers,
Ming Chern
