Looking Back Year 2007…

This blog post is inspired by Jacklyn, who is a very good friend of mine, also teaching me the meaning of life through her life stories. Thank you Jacklyn, for being a guiding beacon in my life! :)

Hmmm, how should I start? This year has been a pretty interesting year for me. It is for me to discover more about myself, my limitations, my goals, my inspirations and my focus.

I began the year helping Stuart in the Internet Marketing department of Adam Khoo Learning Tech Group. As I had only started IM about 4 months before I moved fully into IM, I quickly realized that I have tons to learn. We started off the year pushing the product Internet Money Secrets 2007, only to be canceled during March when John & Rich couldn’t make it here.

After that, I witness the power of masters at work, where there were no room for mud slinging or blaming game as I saw the directors of AKLTG brainstorming on how to salvage the situation. Everyone were given a role in their expertise and from the ashes rose Internet Marketing Academy (IMA).

To cut the long story short, IMA kicked off in May, with a small cozy class of about 15 people, where Stuart, Aloysius and I were able to devote more attention to the participants. It is also during that time where I learned I had a lot of public speaking skills to pick up. I literally flopped during my technical training where I stammered, stuttered and fumbled my way through. I clocked well over 300 pause fillers in a short span of a few hours. Boy, that was a great blow.

Of course, I learned alot and strived to be better. I put more heart and soul into my toastmasters and improved more. Though not to the master level, but as long as I’m always improving, I’m happy.

Thereafter, I quickly learned the difference between spoon feeding and hand holding. Spoon Feeding is literally giving you a fish, and hand holding is teaching you how to fish. From observation, those who were spoon fed were ugly enough to morph to want us to cook the fish and feed it to them. Well, that’s life!

Nevertheless, many batches later, I see the ending of IMA, where I’m already teaching the last few weeks of the November batch IMA. The people are really great in there. Many had potential, some require more guidance and most need more technical help. This is great, cos I’m starting to practice Camtasia, which is a video capturing software. :) Thank you guys for giving me the opportunities in helping me learn.

All in all, this year was great where I saw a surge in my income where I’ve never hit before. I was able to buy some pretty things for my wife who stuck by me all these years. Life was never easy ever since we got married, where I was thrown into entrepreneurship and struggling to find my feet. From my constant temper (well, i’m still having it.. :p) to the low low pay of a measely thousand plus dollars. Things are really starting to pick up. I’ve found great friends, mentors and JV partners to make my own IM journey a better and more fun way.

One thing to note, more fun doesn’t mean smooth. Expecting a smooth journey to financial freedom is like wishing for the stars. Success is never a destination, but a journey. It is the path that mould us into who we are.

I shall continue to enjoy my journey, to learn new things and to make more money! :)

Cheers to all and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
