The Return Of The Ah-Long (Loan Shark)

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Damn,

Things doesn’t happen well for me, in terms of family huh?

Some loan shark returned to my place again! Haiz!
DISCLAIMER: It was NOT ME who borrowed money hor… I’m not that poor…

Anyways, the first time they came was when I was renovating my place back at jan/feb 2007.
They came to throw packets of kopi-o at my door, staining everything.

Made police reports, but no one was caught, so things just sizzled down to nothing, or so I thought.

Fast forward one year 10 months, it happened again on Friday 10th October. Came back with my wife about 10+pm and saw some writings on the wall near the 1st floor lobby. Was shocked to see my unit number with the ex-tenant’s name.

Went up to my floor and saw another writing there… Reached my door step and saw writings again.. $#(*&@!(*&#@*@!

I was literally cursing & swearing. Saw a mobile number on the wall and I called it. Was mildly shocked to hear some one picking up the phone. Was even more shocked to know that I was talking to the actual loan shark… Hahaha, talk about keeping a low profile huh?

Anyway, this was the small fry. After establishing that I was the new tenant, the guy on the phone said that he’ll revert back to his boss and things will carry on from there.

After 2 hours or so (midnight), the boss called me and we talked for a while. Guess what, he wanted proof that i’m the new tenant and asked for some proof. Basically, he asked me for the HDB letter of purchase. I said, “Ya, I have it, let’s meet up this weekend”.

Well, he said he’ll call me back on saturday to confirm the time. I waited by my mobile phone for the entire saturday, no call back. Sunday? no call back… Now coming to monday, still nothing yet (6pm now)…

Hope that everything blows by… haiz…

Moving Away, Moving On…

I’ve been getting tons of comments from my dear friends on the ‘demise’ of my father.
First of all, thank you all so much for giving me the moral support that I need.
It has helped me in more ways that I can imagine.

I’ve been reflecting on what has been happening and reflected on the quotes by my friends.
“Tough Times Don’t Last, Tough People Do”

Yes, we’ve heard about this for sooo many times, but how many of us truly believe and ACTED upon it?

Do recall the last time that some really bad happened to you. What are the words that you said to yourself? Did you blame yourself, blame karma, blame people around you? Or perhaps you said and truly believe that it is a test from some higher being? You began to think positive and acted positively, turning one of the worst situation into something really good?

I admit, at times, I can be really pessimistic, though I didn’t blame people, I was pretty down and out and feeling thoroughly grouchy about it. I do tell myself most of the times, that this is for the better, things are already getting better, but somehow it was really tough.

It is through the constant consolation and the blessing of my loved ones and my dearest friends that make me strive on, moving towards another chapter of my life.

Again, I want to thank all those who supported me all these times. Very much appreciated.
The bubbly, lively, optimistic tofu monkey is back again, roaring for greater success in life!

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!
